The Wicked Cornhole Story

  • Wicked Cornhole was founded in 2014 in Tewksbury, MA by Bruce Taylor as a backyard passion project. Fueled by a love of the game, he and his son started building cornhole game boards in the garage for fun–and selling them on the front lawn. As word spread, demand for his boards grew, and Bruce's hobby turned into a full-blown family business with the help of his wife Stacey, and children Christian, Patrick, and Amanda.

  • Wicked Cornhole eventually grew to become the Northeast’s go-to source for professional-grade boards and accessories–built by players, for players. Thanks to his grit, craftsmanship, and gift for making genuine connections, Bruce realized his dream of building both a business and a thriving community of fellow cornhole enthusiasts.

  • After a brave battle with cancer Bruce passed away in November of 2023, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy as a promoter of the sport and a generous community member who supported dozens of local organizations over the years. In one of his final conversations, Bruce shared his hope that the business would carry on after he was gone. Former employee and Lead of Manufacturing, Ed Wilkish purchased Wicked Cornhole in October 2024.

  • Before taking ownership Ed was the company's first full-time professional hire. His unconventional job interview included a few beers with Bruce and a visit from Ed's own cornhole league buddies, who showed up to pitch a partnership with the Wicked brand. At the end of a long day, Ed went home with a commitment from Bruce to help expand his weekly tournament, a new job, and his own place within the Wicked family. A new job–one that he called to be "the smartest thing I've ever done because I was so much happier." He is now dedicated to growing the business in a way that honors Bruce’s spirit and vision.
